My explorations have taken me across the globe from New York City to India and from a professional life to an unknown one. Working as a network security research engineer at Bell Labs in my early 20s, I was enjoying the success but feeling a deep longing for something more fulfilling. One day I decided to quit my job and thus started my journey into many unknown spaces. I left behind my philosophical questions and took on life as my playground and laboratory to understand the human experience and to get to my true self.
I dove into the world of performing arts--modeling, dancing and acting—in the creative capital of the world--New York City! I studied film and theatre acting at The Stella Adler Studio for Acting and soon found myself modelling for Fashion Week, hosting a radio show through ImaginAsian and acting in a Tamil film!
After a life-transforming stay in India learning at a dance school and different ashrams, meditation centres and healing spaces, I returned to the US in 2008 and founded DiscoverSwasth, a non-profit organization dedicated to Art and Healing. Later, upon moving back to India, I delved into theatre, art therapy, permaculture and teaching yoga, movement and drama in schools for children and eventually into Dhrupad music.
In 2018, with the desire to inspire greater awareness and integration of breath in life, I started sharing through “Breathe with Sudha” videos and holding space for others through holistic wellness coaching sessions. I was once told that all the questions that I had asked and all the answers that I had received were not meant for me. They were meant for others. I felt the truth in those words. My offering had to be my wealth of experiences and insights.
In 2022, life gave birth to A Sunlit Path through me. At this center for art and healing located in Auroville, India, I aspire to hold a loving space for other seekers and offer myself in the spirit of service through Meditation/Mindfulness, Theatre, Movement classes for adults and children and private Drama/Movement Therapy sessions.
